Love’s Way.

Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.

Love says, “God commands us to love Him with all our heart and soul and strength, and God commands us to love ourselves as we should, and then our neighbors as ourselves.

“First, we are to love God with all our heart. That means our thoughts should always be in God.

“We must also love God with all our soul. That means until death we must speak nothing but the truth.

“We must also love God with all our strength. That means everything we do each day, we do only for the Lord.

“We must also love ourselves as we’re commanded. That means we must focus—not on our own self-interests—but on God’s will.

“We must also love our neighbors as ourselves. That means we shouldn’t act, think, or speak towards our neighbors in any way that we wouldn’t want them to act, think, or speak towards us.

“These instructions are necessary for salvation and healing. Nobody can gain grace any other way.”

Marguerite Porete (d. 1310) was a French Beguine mystic and martyr. She was condemned as a heretic because of her writing which, in her time, was misunderstood as a spirituality that dispensed with the Church in favor of direct communion with God.

All Loving God

Cultivate in us a spirituality that flows out of Marian simplicity, humility and modesty.

Release in us wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement for your work in which we share.

Help us set our gaze on those people and places most in need of Christlife,

Impel us to respond together,

And lead us to be in communion with one another, and with you.

Like Mary, we listen for your invitation,

Like Mary, we set out joyfully and in haste to the hill country of the lives of young people,

Like Mary, we build communities in ways that are Christ-centred.

All Loving God, come and live in our hearts.
